Demolition of Mifflin Hall
Fort Lee, Virginia
This BRAC funded project involved the complete demolition and removal of Mifflin Hall which was the former Quartermaster School on Fort Lee, VA. The existing building was three stories tall with (2) two story wings and covered some 144,500 SF of floor area. The demolition involved the abatement of asbestos containing materials, lead based painted items, and PCB and mercury containing lighting fixtures. 80% of the demolished materials were separated during the process and eventually recycled. In the footprint of the existing building, two small vehicle parking lots accommodating 350 vehicles and a parade ground were constructed. The project also involved the complete demolition and reconstruction of a parking lot across the street from Mifflin Hall.
